Krk Handi Wake – International wakeboard competition – 1st stop of Croatian Wakeboard Tour powered by Vip

Punat bay, island Krk, Croatia: Wakeboard Cable Krk will host 26-31 May Krk Handi Wake – international IWWF ranked ** wakeboard & wakeskate competition in categories Junior & Open, including the most important, Seated category for disabled riders.

Traditional Krk Handi  – wakeboard school and competition for disabled is held since 2004, now inviting all riders and wakeskaters to join this international event. Trainings start on Monday, 26 May, with riders from France, Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia. Official training is on Friday, 30 May and finals in all categories on Saturday, 31 May.

During the week the organizer invites everyone to exciting side events: Tuesday, 27 May in Punat center in front of caffe bar Piccolo will be held a basketball match, and Friady, day before big finals, Wakeboard Cable Krk will present rock bend Open Road from Punat.

Saturday entertainment program will lead DJ Chill with best of Hip Hop, Funk & Reggae classics and speaker Marko Petar Oreškovic.

The event organizers are the Croatian Waterski Federation and Wakeboard club Krk and the goal of this project is the affiliation of people with disabilities, wakeboarders, wakeskaters, graffiti artists and all other admirers of music, fashion and this whole lifestyle which makes this event a unique weekend of sports and entertainment.

Wakeboard center Cable Krk, 3-8 June 2013

Luminox Krk Handi Wake

Wakeboard Center Cable Krk in Punat bay on island Krk, Croatia, hosted from 3 to 8 June international  *** IWWF ranked event for Junior and Open categories, including the most important – Seated category for disabled riders.

The event started on 3 June with wakeboard school and training program for disabled riders, followed by the competition on Friday and Saturday, 7-8 June.

Beautiful weather and perfect riding conditions accompanied by cool music and side events resulted in a memorable weekend packed with action. 40 riders from Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Italy, France, Hungary and Netherlands took part.

The winner in Seated category is Emanuele Pagnini of Italy who thrilled both judges and spectators with spectacular performance, followed by Philippe Turchet from France on the second position and Zdravko Lakic on the third place who made all Croatians particularly proud.

Winners by categories are: in Wakeboard Robert Pokovec from Slovenia in Open Men, Naja Puhan, also Slovenian, in Open Ladies, Timo Kapl from Austria in Junior Men, Rudolf Vinko Dekovic from Croatia in Boys. Wakeskate winners are Matic Flajs from Slovenia in Open Men and Sanda Jelicic from Croatia in Open Ladies.

All riders won points for IWWF Cable Wakeboard World ranking list and the prize money of 2.500 EUR provided by Luminox watches, Memento Venerem shop from Krk and Wakeboard center Cable Krk.

We kindly thank the event sponsors Luminox Croatia,  Memento Venerem shop, Optima telekom, Hypo Alpe Adria Bank, Heineken, O’Neill Croatia and Hoteli Punat.

Dj Preddyof Austria kept the crowd entertained with hip hop, funk & reggae selection,and German writers Mr. Woodland i D.Vice of Deadly Habits created a super cool 30×2,5m graffiti.

Event organizers are Croatian Waterski and Wakeboard Federation, Wakeboard club Krk and Balance from Rijeka. The aim of this sunny project was integration of all disabled and able-bodied riders and fans of wakeboarding into a unique weekend of sport and fun.

On 3-8 June Wakeboard Cable Krk will host Luminox Krk Handi Wake – an international IWWF ranked ***wakeboard and wakeskate competition for Juniors and Open, including the Seated category for disabled riders!

A traditional Krk Handi Tricks – wakeboard school and competition for disabled, hosted every June since 2004, this year for the first time welcomes all wakeboarders and wakeskaters to take part. The event starts on Monday, 3 June, with all-week trainings for disabled riders. Official training and the qualifying rounds will be on Friday, 7 June in the afternoon, and the finals in all categories on Saturday, 8 June 2013.

39 Croatian and Slovenian riders competed in 7 categories for prizes and presents from the sponsors: Luminox watches, Optima telekom, Memento Venerem shop and O’Neill Croatia.

To make this day packed with good riding even more fun, our speaker Marko Petar Oreskovic and DJ Jericho of Balance Crew rocked all day long and made sure everyone had a good time.

Krk Handi Tricks 2012

International wakeboard school & competition for disabled

Sports & recreational center Cable Krk (Croatia) from 11 to 16 June hosted Krk Handi Tricks, ninth in a row traditional wakeboard school and competition for disabled..

Participants from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy and France took part, varying from absolute beginners to high level riders. The program was concluded on hot sunny Saturday with great atmosphere and performance on the water.

The day started with Croatian wakeboard team qualifications for Cable Wakeboard Europeans in September in Toulouse, France. Four riders in three categories qualified: Mara Parentic and Paula Babic in Girls category, Rudolf Dekovic in Boys and Nikola Vranesic in Open Men.

Seven competitors took part at Krk Handi Tricks, with qualifaing rounds at 11 and finals at 15 in the afternoon. The usual wakeboard course allowing water and obstacle tricks across a length of the three hundred meters, was overviewed by three judges. The results were multiplied by a coefficient that represents the degree of disability.

Winner of the day was Philippe Turchet from France, a longtime competitor and the chairman of the division for disabled of the International waterski and wakeboard federation. Emanuele Pagnini from Italy was second, only 0,4 points before Zdravko Lakic from Croatia, who came in third.

Marko Petar Oreskovic as a great moderator kept everyone smiling all day long and DJ Preddy from Austria kept perfect mood after the prize giving ceremony and troughout the evening at the after party in Piccolo bar in Punat with a selection of  funk, reggae and chill out hip hop.

Main sponsors of the event were city Krk, Tourist board of city Krk, Hotel Park Punat, Heineken, Optima telekom & company Svijet mora that runs Wakeboard center Cable Krk.

The participation was free for everyone, and all participants received prizes and goodies from the sponsors.

Krk Handi Tricks has been held since 2004 at sports and recreation centre Cable Krk. The aim of this manifestation has always been presenting waterskiing and wakeboarding to the general public as a great recreational sport for the disabled.

Krk Handi Tricks is a traditional week of great fun and instructive lessons, not only for our fellow athletes with disabilities but also for all of us, who take everyday life for granted.
