Second Croatian & Slovenian Cable Wakeboard Nationals

On Saturday, 10 September, Cable Krk  and wakeboard club Krk hosted T-Com Cro Board 2005 - second Croatian & Slovenian Cable Wakeboard Nationals in the bay of Punat, the contest in an attractive board sport , water version of snowboard.

With a perfect weather conditions, 27 best Croatian and Slovenian riders competed in Junior and Open categories. A cheerful crowd of about five hundred spectators made a great atmosphere during the competition cheering their favorites. The jury of three judges evaluated the execution, intensity and a composition of riders' performances.

Slovenian Robert Pokovec won in Open Men category, and Tomislav Kirincic was the best Croatian rider with the third place overall. The best in Open Ladies was, as expected, Croatian Silvia Troselj, and the best Slovenian Lady was Mateja Pasic, overall fifth. The best Junior was Mateja's son Luka Pasic and his twin brother Saso took the second place so it really was a wonderful day for Pasic family. The best Croatian Junior was Stefan Lalic, overall third. They won the titles of national champions and prizes from the general sponsor of the event T-Com and Tourist board of Punat. The chief judge, Lior Eliyahu from Israel said: "This is the best atmosphere I've seen at one national championship. Riders gave really good performance, everybody was in the good mood, I feel here as a part of one big sports family."

Silvia Troselj from Rijeka is so far the best rider from Krk. In season 2005 aside from the title of national champion, she was also fifth at the European Championships in Alfsee, Germany, and sixth at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Wakeboard club Krk and Cable Krk with this event brought to the end another successful wakeboard season at Krk, with help from the general sponsor of all events - T-Com Croatia. Wakeboard season at Cable Krk goes on every year from Easter weekend till end September, and some of the riders will continue training in Thailand and Australia in wintertime.      Everything was absolutely super trouper! Riders, spectators, sunshine and calm water... Thanks a lot to everybody who helped us make this wonderful event! Thanks to T-Com Croatia for sponsorship, Tourist board of Punat for cash prizes, Lior, Gyuri and Vule for excellent judging. I am absolutely thrilled by the fact that we had seven ladies at the competition, there are more and more females around the cable, we could have a knitting and tapestry course soon :) The after party in Snooker was, as after any big event, a blast. Unfortunately for me but luckily for some riders I forgot the camera for the after party... I also have to give credit to Igor for his excellent first appearance as moderator. With support from numerous guests and riders he kept the atmosphere up all day long.

Except the standard awards on Saturday we also had The best future artist winner. All riders had a spot to make a drawing at their entry forms. The jury unanimously agreed that the best future artist is Kristian Skrokov from Punat with a drawing of himself at slider and city of Punat in the background. This competition was the great final of one chilly summer. Traditionally, next big event at Krk is on schedule in May, The first Stop of the European Cable Wakeboard Tour 2006...
